| The Stars of Seduction Cinema: An Update In the past two years, Seduction Cinema has slowed down the breakneck pace of sexy parodies and softcore frolics that we’ve been churning out for the last decade. There’s a good reason for that. Seduction and its many-tentacled offshoots have been mining long-forgotten vaults for vintage, impossible-to-see-elsewhere grindhouse gems, kick-starting Bloody Earth’s grimy splatter-flick series, and restoring the works of erotic cinema legend Joe Sarno. So, we’ve been busy. Of course, the production company that spawned both Misty Mundae and the Erotic Witch Project Series is not about to abandon the wild world of lesbian bloodsuckers, zombie strippers, and hornball supergirls anytime soon. See our recent super-spoofs The Instatiable Ironbabe (2008) and Batbabe: The Dark Nightie (2009) for proof that our commitment to gratuitous nudity has not abated. Still, we aren’t making a dozen of ‘em a year anymore. So, where do all the Seduction Cinema girls go when we’re not coaxing them into lace and Lycra? Let’s check in on some of our favorite thespians to find out. Sabrina Faire (fun fact: named after a 1953 Broadway musical!) was not the most prolific Seduction Cinema girl, but with her 70’s Valley stoner-chick looks and breezy acting style, she was clearly one of the most notable. She starred in 2006’s horny gorilla romp Kinky Kong and 2007’s lesbian vampire epic Sex Hex. And then, much like a lesbian vampire is wont to do, she vanished in a puff of purplish smoke. So where is the fair Miss Faire now? In a skin mag, where else? Sabrina graces the interior of this month’s Penthouse Magazine, in tasteful and tantalizing spread. Some extra Faire can also be found on their website. Sabrina Faire in Sex Hex Sabrina’s not the only Seduction siren wooed by Playboy’s slightly raunchier step-brother. AJ Khan – who, incidentally, prefers her given name, Anju McIntyre, these days – was featured in a recent issue, as well. More importantly, the entrepreneurial Anju recently launched her very own brand of lingerie, “Kandy Vixens”, and even enjoyed a shot of mainstream success with an appearance on VH-1 reality show “My Antonio”. It’s a dating show. The “Winner” gets to be soap star Antonio Sabato Jr.’s girlfriend. Luckily for our Anju, she did not make the final cut, sparing her a year or so of C-list cocktail parties. She also recently wrapped filming on a movie entitled “Living Will”. Bam Margera’s in it, so we can only assume it’s about fist-fights and vomit. We’ll have more details as they arrive. In the meantime, be sure to check out our archives for the bazillion sexy flicks AJ shot with us, including Lord of the G-Strings (2003), Vampire Vixens (2003), The Girl Who Shagged Me (2005), and SSI: Sex Squad Investigation (2006). AJ Khan in Shock-O-Rama Ah, and then there’s Julian Wells. Has a sexier pair of lips ever graced a movie screen? Well OK, a TV screen? We think not. The gorgeous Miss Wells starred in over a dozen Seduction Cinema films, including Witchbabe: The Erotic Witch Project III (2001), That 70’s Girl (2003), Spiderbabe (2003), Lust for Dracula (2004), and Cloak & Shag Her (2008). She even wrote one, 2003’s Sexy American Idle. Julian – or as she’s known to the world-at-large these days, Suzy McCoppin – is the star of Party Girl, an exclusive Playboy.com webseries. Suzy is the titular girl-who-parties in these often hilarious instructional shorts. Topics include “How to Give a Lapdance”, “Wet T-shirt Do’s and Don’ts” and the all-important “How to Hit on David Spade”. Lucky for you, almost all of these how-to’s quickly devolve into strip shows. Visit Playboy.com for more info. Julian Wells in Shock-O-Rama Without question, Misty Mundae was Seduction Cinema’s breakout star. After a dicey start at Billy Hellfire’s notorious Factory 2000 – home of the asphyxiation video – Misty began shooting for Seduction with 2001’s Gladiator Eroticus. Almost from the start, Misty’s deceptively wholesome looks and natural acting abilities clicked with Seduction audiences, and she quickly rose to starring roles in films like Mummy Raider (2002), Playmate of the Apes (2002), Sin Sisters (2003), Spiderbabe (2003), Sinful (2006), Splatter Beach (2007), and many more. Misty – who now prefers her given name, Erin Brown – has spent the last few years trying to break into more mainstream film and television. Her first major role to that end was in “Sick Girl”, an episode of Showtime’s anthology series Masters of Horror (2005-2007). Misty played opposite May’s Angela Bettis in this funny/creepy tale of lesbian romance directed by Lucky McKee. She also had a pivotal role in the critically acclaimed The Lost (2006), a tense true-crime tale based on Jack Ketchum’s book. Perhaps most notably, she’s gone on to become a regular on the sexy Cinemax series “Lingerie” (2009-). A crisply paced dramedy about lingerie models and lingerie model photographers in New York City, the weekly thirty minute show built up a sizeable cult audience in its first season. No word yet on whether it will return in 2010, but with Misty’s star-power on deck, there’s a good chance it will. Misty Mundae So, there you have it. A smattering of updates from the Women of Seduction Cinema. Of course, that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg – our girls keep busy, and we’ve got dozens of ‘em - so check this space for further installments. Until then, stay sexy. We certainly will. |
